10 Year Anniversary Competition!

Rock Spot Climbing Peace Dale - 10-Year Anniversary Competition!

To commemorate 10 years of climbing at Rock Spot Climbing Peace Dale, we are hosting a redpoint climbing competition on the day of our 10-Year Anniversary Celebration.

This competition will have a qualification round taking place in both of our downstairs bouldering sections (Hueco & Bishop).

Finals will take place in the lead cave, with the top 5 competitors in the advanced division earning a spot to vie for a chance to win our coveted climbing hold trophy (along with gift cards and prizes).

Divisions •Beginner - V1 - V3 •Intermediate - V4 - V6 •Advanced - V7 & up

The cost of this competition will be $15.

Qualification Round: 4:30pm-6:30pm Finals Round: 7pm-8pm. Awards: 8:15pm.

Over the past ten years, Rock Spot Climbing Peace Dale and its staff have worked to provide our community with a home away from home. Building this community, supporting our climbers, and providing the best quality climbing possible is what we live for here at Rock Spot. We love being here for our community and want to do what we can to give back to all of you, so we hope you all have a great time with this competition!

Additional Rules

This competition will take place using a Redpoint format.

In this format: •There will be 30 climbs set for all competitors to try during the competition. •Competitors will have two hours to climb in a session during which they may attempt the boulders in whatever order they wish and make as many attempts on each one as they like. •Competitors are allowed to share and receive “beta” before and after their attempts (but not while on the wall). •Scores will be recorded on the Pebble app. •A competitor's top 5 climbs will be scored. •Scores will be determined by the total number of tops (and the total number of zones) achieved on a climber's top 5 climbs, subtracting the total number of attempts it takes them to achieve their top/high point.

• The competiton will run from May 13, 2023 8:30 PM to May 13, 2023 10:30 PM

• Each climber will compete against the other.

• The cost of the comp is $15.00 .

• This comp is invite only. You can only register if you have gotten a registration url.

• You can compete in one of the following categories:

• Beginner (V1-V3)

• Intermediate (V4-V6)

• Advanced (V7+)

• This competition is hidden from the general public.
