Overview around the Castle

Stand on large blob sticking out. Pretend you're underclinging something and do a quick one two step dyno followed by a quick one two catch on two separate holds in the seam above. Watch the blob on your way down.

Jordan

Climb the porkchop looking formation. Start with right on undercling sidepull around the arete and left on sidepull. 

I think the grade's about right. I've done it, but can't remember what it was all about. Steep climbing on horizontal seams.

Unnamed Problem 3

This one was pictured in the Rock & Ice issue when Castle Rock was featured. Not sure if it got done that day. I've never seen anyone on it. Seems sharp and kinda boring.

Unnamed Problem 8

Start on slopey rail. Move through the huecos and over the slopey roof.

This is the scaredest I've ever been on a boulder problem. I don't know why. Maybe because you have to make a really long move off a flake that you could see breaking at the top. I stayed on the right side of the arete at the top, but you could probably roll around earlier. Start on the right facing pinch on the right side of the arete.

A gorgeous project. The line to the right looks more doable, but it's not. Gain a juggy rail from a right undercling and then punch to a small left crimp. The idea from here is to somehow get to that fairly high horizontal seam. I've rappelled it and it goes, but it will be hard.

Unnamed Problem 2

Tennie problem. Run at the wall, jump for the knob and top out. Not sure if it's been done or not.

Unnamed Problem 7

It's an offwidth. I don't know why anyone would want to climb one of these, but feel free to play around in it. Less of a problem, more of a training mechanism.

Unnamed Problem 5

A fun tall one to do in tennies. Mind the poop.

Tennie Up

Project. Loose as hell, especially as you get higher up.

Unnamed Problem 14

Sharp tiny crimps to start, then pop to the crimpy seam.

I think this one is in the climbing guidebook, but looks like a fun highball.

Unnamed Problem 1

What? It's a cross between an analyst and a therapist. Strap on your cutoffs and mind the boulder at your back through the middle section. The no hands top move is really fun. Possibly quite a bit harder if you're shorter.

Analrapist

Nice looking project. Same start as Global, but move right.

I think it's still a project, but should have been done a long time ago. Maybe it has. Follow the rail out the cave to a topout through the trees.

Funky mantley bit at the beginning. Then traverse a little left to a crimp knob in the face and then up.

Warmup 3

Broken and flakey. Something to do if you're making your way around the boulder.

Unnamed Problem 10

Start on the left corner. Gain the bottom of the slopey rail and continue up it.

Slopey Rail

Fun problem to start the warmup with. Easy climbing leads to a ridge traverse and then a final jump to the boulder behind this one. You can downclimb, but it's not the easiest.

Alpine Finish

A quick move off a slopey jug and then flail your feet around for a bit trying to figure out what to do.

Unnamed Problem 9

Start crimp for the right and sidepull for the left. Stay together for the topout.

Dark Heart

Battle the tree to the first holds. Then battle it while climbing up the arete and eventually rolling over.

Pine in the Ass

You can make this really easy or awkward as hell, depending on whether you use the right wall.

Three crimpy horizontal seams lead to a slopey topout. Save about 20 minutes for negotiating the grand adventure that is the downclimb.

Come On Feet

I'm not sure if this has ever actually been done. Climb up crack and traverse into the finish of Pontuffe.

Unnamed Problem 12

We toproped this one first and I suggest you do the same. It looks easy up there, but there is one hard long move where it's nice to know what you're doing.

Neck Tie

Warmup One

Maybe V6, but the height warrants the bump. So much fun! Start on sidepulls, dyno to the rail, traverse right and keep your head together for the top.

Pontuffe

Start right and it used to finish left until a hold broke. Now probably finish straight up. Not sure if it's been done without the hold yet. Probably the same grade though.

Money

Jump start. I think something broke on this

Climb the arete until you can get a stance on the slopey dish on the face for your left foot. Then set off into slab land. Expect to take some falls up there.

Bow Tie

Climb the arete. Either side is about the same. You can also sit it if you want to make it slightly harder.

Warmup 2

Start as low as you want and climb up the bulgy arete. Maybe some holds broke at the bottom since the first.

Long pulls on big holds finishes higher than you want to be. Good for the head.

This would be nice if it goes. I don't think anyone has put much time into it. Looks kinda funky.

Not sure if it's been done. Tiny little sharp right trending seam.

Balancy. Start on sidepull. Crux is getting off the ground.

Nice looking project. Tried by more than a few strong ones. Maybe a bit too futuristic, but the bottom moves are fun.

Another fun one, just move left of #4 at the top.

A nice project. Harder than it looks if you start low. Everything faces the same direction.
